Florida Alliance members joined with allies in the progressive and labor communities on Tuesday outside of a Palm Beach Humana office to protest the company’s recent mailings that falsely warned seniors that their benefits would be cut by health insurance reform. Florida Alliance president Tony Fransetta and AFSCME’s Willie Pouncy Jr. led a rally outside the building, but when they and other activists tried to deliver an open letter to the insurance giant, they were rebuffed and had a door closed in their face by a Humana official.
Tony Fransetta reported:
Attendees followed by press then entered the Humana insurance office to deliver the letter from FLARA to the branch manager. After a lengthy wait of over 20 minutes, Mr. Perry (branch manager) arrived and asked group to exit the Humana business office. Once in the hall of the office building Mr. Perry reluctantly accepted the letter, which had been blown up to poster board size. Mr. Perry then expressed some hostility, turned on his heel and went back inside the Humana office - all but slamming the door in the messengers' faces.
Watch here:
We can pressure conservatives to fix the prescription drug benefit and more.
We need to continue to express the notion that Republicans don't do capitalism very well.
Consider capitalism as a vehicle for running companies somewhat like driving a car appears as a method for moving people.
You have laws and rules for driving a car and you need a license. We're not going to eliminate the car from our country just because some people don't drive cars well. We prosecute poor drivers who violate laws.
We do have licenses for corporations in that the government makes them register. We're not going to get rid of corporations just because mostly Republicans don't use corporations well and don't do capitalism well. Instead we will have the government regulate corporations better and more effectively and we will penalize the corporations that deliberately break the laws and regulations.
In my view of history the Republican party encourages corporations to break the law and act immorally towards the less fortunate in society and even act mean spirited towards the less fortunate and the leaders of the Republican party as well as their tribunes like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck also act mean spirited and boorish towards the less fortunate in society and encourage their listeners to act this way.
So we need to keep on message and tell independents and moderates that Republicans do not do capitalism well, given evidence of the 2 great depressions of Herbert Hoover and George W Bush and that we should keep Republicans out of power for at least 32 years.
We also need to go after some of these Republican and conservative supporting companies with massive consumer boycotts to pressure them to get us the legislation they help block. Besides, every time you buy some of these conservative supporters products, you fund the Republican party.

I have the solution to too much company influence over legislation.
Boycott some of those companies en masse and make them get it
for us. Yes, we will need to get at least 100,000 people to act on
these. With these actions you can help limit corporate power.

Its obvious that humana office's employees fired up because of a cut in their health reform. Today it is humana office and tomorrow it may to another so it is the duty of the insurer to compromise the affected ones and i guess Mr.Perry took a wrong choice.
