New Hampshire Alliance member Priscilla King participated in a press conference today with Democratic members on Capitol Hill.
Priscilla King is a 70-year-old from Bow, New Hampshire.
King explained how she and her husband Bernie have been struggling for years to afford their prescription drugs, and they have gone into debt during times when they fell into the donut hole. She said, "I think it is wrong that when you are in the donut hole you must keep paying your premiums, but get no benefits in return."
King is pleased with the steps New Hampshire Representative Carol Shea-Porter is taking to make prescription drugs more affordable for by closing the Medicare “Donut Hole.”
Priscilla King said in closing, "I want to thank Speaker Pelosi, Representative Shea-Porter, and everyone here for standing up for seniors and closing the donut hole. America’s seniors need help more than the big insurance companies do. We must pass this bill right away!"
